Phil Davies
As an acknowledged payments industry expert Phil set up his own specialist advisory service, Resource Associates, upon leaving MasterCard in May 2010. Phil has set up alliances with other specialists and forged excellent relationships with legislative/ regulatory bodies and payment schemes in order to provide ‘best of breed’ solutions and services. Phil has many retained clients, including Visa EU, and sits on the board of The Card Group Ltd and PSI Pay Limited; he is also retained by VRL Financial News as a contributor and technical author.
Prior to this Phil spent eight years as VP & Business Development Director of MasterCard Europe where, amongst his other achievements, he was instrumental in the introduction of prepaid to Europe. In doing so Phil has forged relationships with the major banking players, third party service providers and governmental regulatory bodies and lobbyists.
Phil has had a successful, and diverse, career encompassing retail banking where he was Senior Manager and Group Head of Lloyds TSB’s B2B consumer finance division. Prior to that Phil held positions within Xerox corporation culminating in Regional Manager - Middle East where he spent several years developing the acceptance of the Xerox brand.

Ian Povey
Ian is an experienced & internationally recognised advisor to the cards and payments sectors. Through CardsConsult, Ian delivers strategic insight and guidance on new technologies and business models as they relate to payments, rewards and identity related initiatives.
Ian has been directly accountable for payments initiatives for more than fifteen years through roles based around the world at Coopers & Lybrand, PwC, EDS, MBNA, ANZ and CardsConsult.
Initiatives include Program Director of the Malaysian National ID, formulation of the Bonus Card in Turkey and a secondment as Smart Cards Policy Advisor to the Office of the e-Envoy (UK) to develop the Smart Card Policy Framework. Ian continues to work on organisational and market changing initiatives in Australia and abroad. Ian is widely published, including the Journal of Payments Strategy & Systems in London with "Assessing the impact of EMV migration: A pragmatic delivery approach".
