Demand rises for SEPA staff

A week after the European Central Bank published its fifth progress report on the development of the Single European Payments Area – “SEPA – from concept to reality”, the UK payments card sector appears to have woken up to the impending regulatory requirements.

Neill Butcher, Managing Director of specialist executive search company Headcount said, “In the past few days we have had several requests from banks and other card issuers to find staff who can manage the impact that SEPA will have on their businesses”.

“It appears to have only just dawned on the UK payment card industry that SEPA is going to become a reality from January 2008 and will have an impact on both sides of the English Channel – not just in the Eurozone”.
