Job Description

A position has become available to provide maternity cover in the GEMs Marketing Planning team from July to October 2010 with potential to extend beyond this period.

The purpose of the role is to manage the marketing tactical budget and marketing fees for the GEMs markets and to analyse key trends using cardholder/market data and insight to inform marketing plan development. 

The principal accountabilities of the role are:

Marketing Development Fund policy, implementation and ongoing management working with Brand, Finance, Relationship Management and Legal.
Primary responsibility for managing the GEMs tactical marketing budget to maximise POS/Revenues/Strategic Priorities, tracking delivery and reporting on results.
Establishment of structured analysis of market trends: understand business requirements for Marketing Management Information and develop reports on market trends using cardholder and market data.
Applying insights to inform the marketing strategy and plans for GEMs markets.

The jobholder will report directly to the GEMs Marketing Planning Director

Essential criteria:

Ideally 5 years experience working in business analyst/information management roles, including analysis of market trends and use of data
Cards industry experience.
Self starter, able to manage own work deliverables and objectives
Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
Financial skills and good attention to detail.
Excellent powerpoint/excel skills
Ability to influence and negotiate with internal colleagues.

Desirable criteria

Additional business or marketing qualification
Fluency in additional languages
