Job Description

Role Purpose:
Operating in many locations worldwide, our brand offers a wide range of Point of Sale, e-Comm payment services and risk products to customers from SME to major global Corporates.

This is a Marketing communications role which has primary responsibility for all external face-to-face communications for its “Point of Sale” acquiring customers.

The range of external communications activities include:
• Production of all customer facing promotional material in support of sales activities and customer retention – including support of reseller partners
• Successful delivery of launch communications for new products and initiatives, mandatory and acquisition communications
• Retention and support communications for the customer base, including communication of a wide range of mandatory and change projects
• Successful delivery of sponsorship and hospitality events for including production of promotional material, display stands for use at external conferences and exhibition management
• Managing relationships with external communications agencies with a view to leveraging best value for money and optimising external expertise
• Content ownership and maintenance of point of sale websites and intranets
• Responsible for brand strategy and guidelines
• Marketing budget management
• Manage and lead the PR strategy
• Management of all collateral print and production
• Define and manage the marketing plan and its deliverables
• Ensure marketing activity is cost effective and evaluated - and the results shared
• Represent Marketing as a centre of excellence for marketing communication activitities

Key Role Deliverables:
• Develop and deliver agreed external communications tasks, on time and within budget.
• Create and deliver effective Direct Marketing campaigns.
• Manage relationships with external Marketing suppliers, leveraging best value for money
• Ensure all communications are clear, coherent and in line with the overall brand strategy and brand guidelines.
• Clear and ‘memorable’ customer communications delivered to customer base - effectiveness to be gauged through market and customer research
• Deliver improved value to face-to-face .com website - effectiveness to be gauged through market and digital research
• Lead, coach and develop 4 FTE members

Experience
• Extensive marketing communications experience (min 3 years), with significant knowledge of the B2B market. Financial services, particularly within Cards a distinct advantage
• Proven track record of success in marketing generally, including the management of external marketing agencies.
• Proven track record of leading a team in delivery of marketing campaigns within time scales and budgets
• People management skills
• Agency and supplier management experience
• Experience of operating at senior levels within organisations

• Ability to manage multi-faceted marketing, process/people management and technical outputs and issues
• Strong client service focus and understanding
• Excellent communication skills – a confident leader
• Strategic awareness of the business and its strategies
• Demonstrable robust use of process, coupled with a collaborative approach

Scope of Role:
• Pan Global Merchant Services - principally face-to-face external communication activities

Technical Knowledge:
• Business / Marketing degree and/or professional qualification
• Full understanding of marketing mix role, application and impact
• Cards industry knowledge
• Understanding of end-to-end marketing development and production processes

People Management:
• Lead, coach, manage and develop members of the Marketing Communications team – up to 4 FTE currently

Financial Management:
• Sole responsibility for management of the marketing budget
• No specific income targets although the role will significantly support delivery of financial and strategic targets
