Market Snapshot: Very high demand defines this market as companies seek to take advantage of the growing post pandemic economy.

  • Q1 opened and closed strongly but was manic and unstructured – and had impacts on recruitment generally. 

  • Executive teams are being challenged to grow – functionally and geographically.

  • There are C-suite opportunities available driven by market or business expansion – Chief Growth Officer or Chief Operations Officers.

  • There are new opportunities from business pivots - Chief Marketing Officer or Chief Strategy Officer roles, or regulation – i.e. Chief Risk Officer roles or Chief Compliance Officer. 

  • In the case of the latter, these positions – in title at least – are required by firms seeking a presence in the UK and further afield as businesses seek to expand into Europe or establish European hubs, whether as a direct impact of Brexit or being on an IPO route, the emphasis is on CCOs and/or Country Heads/ GMs. 

  • Companies should be prepared to pay a lot for Compliance roles in particular.
