A well-established global FinTech business specialising in money transfer is seeking a Head of Operational Risk and Outsourcing Oversight. This role is for an individual who will thrive as a leader in a fast-paced autonomous environment.

Head of Operational Risk will lead the design and implementation of robust risk controlling framework for effective identification, quantification and management of non-financial, and operational risks. This will be supported by an efficient system of internal controls, including the execution of oversight of outsourcing activities and service providers for the business in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

Role responsibilities:
• Accountable for the continuous evolution of the operational risk framework (policies, processes, incident database, reporting) in line with best practices and evolving regulatory requirements
• Drive cross-functional initiatives needed to remove root causes of most frequent/high-risk operational risk events
• Evolve scenario analysis and forward-looking op risk management framework to support operational resilience
• Contribute to the development and implementation of an efficient operational risk management framework following strategic guidance from the Chief Risk Officer
• Build effective relationship with functional owners and jointly support risk awareness and culture
• Drives continuous improvement of the robust system of internal controls within relevant processes
• Accountable for the definition, refinement, and deployment of outsourcing strategy
• Provide direction and guidance for implementation of effective outsourcing framework (SLAs, KPIs, performance oversight system, escalation and dispute resolution, reporting)
• Establish and maintain strong relationship with outsourcing partners
• Refine and maintain a regular operating mechanism between critical stakeholders, especially between different partners in business lines and support functions and the business

Education and qualifications:
• A university degree in Finance or Business (or equivalent) or Law or relevant professional qualifications
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Risk Management in a banking or financial services environment or similar, complementing industry (i.e. supply chain management, retail operations)
• Experience in digital financial services is strongly desirable
• Excellent knowledge of relevant banking regulations and relevant technical guidelines
• Deep oversight of key process in financial services / payments / banking
• Fluency in English (oral and in writing); fluency in other languages (i.e. French, German) is strongly desirable but not required
• Working in multicultural organizations, experience in cross-functional management and coordination
• Experience of a matrix organization in an international environment
• Excellent computing skills with all common office programs
