A growing London-based payments solutions provider seeks a Senior Operations Manager, to help execute the company’s plans of transforming payments compliance into a supporter of innovation for Banks and Fintechs.   

Role

  • Collaborate with management team to further develop the Payments Operations function into a high performing area by defining, executing, and communicating operational processes, standards, and best practices that work flawlessly and minimize firefighting.
  • Own key relationships with Payment schemes and banking partners and manage all operational components of those relationships – including onboarding, escalation, and business-as-usual.

  • Manage Dispute process, through effective communication with Payment schemes, banking partners, referral partners and retailers to minimise risk and financial exposure.

  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams to identify gaps, examine opportunities, and model improvements against speed, cost, and acceptance.  Also ensure continued compliance with all Payment scheme and regulatory requirements, through partnership with Risk/Compliance.

  • Own payment issues from beginning to end, working with IT, Risk, Compliance, Sales (as appropriate) and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a systematic and timely fashion.

  • Support implementation teams within payments and across the entire company as a subject matter expert on operational matters.

  • Work with Finance team to reconcile inbound and outbound payments with transactional reporting, and trouble-shoot any issues efficiently.

  • Develop, build and maintain Service Level Agreements between internal and external stakeholders, to ensure smooth and efficient management of all operational activities.

 Requirements

  • Must have payments experience – issuing &/or Bin sponsorship is a bonus 
  • 5+ years of operations experience at a high-growth card or payments company.
  • Strong understanding of economic, legal, regulatory, and technical factors shaping payments services. 
  • An affinity for systems thinking and continuous improvement. 
  • Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions 
  • Exceptional collaborative and troubleshooting/deductive skills including the ability to engage in operational incidents with emerging data to assess impact and drive collaborative resolution in a swift manner. 
  • Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a management team. 
  • Ability to manage and support junior operational professionals  
  • Strong motivational skills to effectively motivate their team
  • Strong analytical skills that will allow good reporting and understanding of problems. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills coupled with ability to drive consensus.
