Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst works as part of the operational delivery function, reporting into the Head of Operations. You will be responsible for helping to define the business analysis function which is a new functional area within the operations team, defining appropriate tools and methodologies. Documenting and proposing solutions for large and complex payments projects across a global client portfolio. The Senior Business Analyst will be hands-on in performing business level process analysis using defined tools and methodologies as well as preparing functional specifications. You will also work alongside the development teams to provide iterative analysis of the detailed specifications and to provide a link between the business and the development teams. Responsibilities •Lead the analysis phase of a project to support its delivery •Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders •Collecting, understanding, and communicating the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test analysis that can be utilised by the development teams •Collaborate with technical and solution architects to define solutions •Analyse and document business processes •Document results of business analysis and obtain sign-off on specifications •Provide link between development team, client and third-party regarding software functionality throughout the development life cycle •Communicate with subject matter experts and system users to identify business needs and opportunities •Analyse and solve problems; determine and communicate need for technical analysis •Responsible for managing overall requirements catalogue for project •Work with Project Manager to allocate and priorities for business analysis work •Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Skills & Experience •Experience of mentoring small teams within an overall project structure •Demonstrated evidence of analysing and documenting complex business process and system flows •Demonstrated experience writing specifications for Information Systems (preferably within a Payments environment) •Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work at all levels across projects •End to end experience of project lifecycle •Strong analytical and numerical skills •Be able to work successfully as part of a growing team •Diligent and drive for excellence •Excellent attention to detail, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written •Working knowledge of the payments industry (Desirable) Competencies •Committed to placing the needs of the clients first and to delivering consistently high quality of service •Adhere to high standards of professional integrity •Ability to deal with complexity and to handle multiple tasks concurrently. •Possess high levels of drive and determination, and deliver quality outputs to tight deadlines. •An inquisitive mind-set where you continuously seek process improvement. •Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals and success Qualifications •5+ years business analyst experience in financial services •Undergraduate BS or BA degree preferred but not required
